Aquatic Group Fitness Classes

Due to the RiverPlex indoor pool opening delay, the YMCA has decided to extend our pool hours to serve our members.

The hours and dates of operation are as follows:

September 6-9: 5 AM – 12 PM.

September 10 & 11: Closed.

September 12-16: 5 AM – 12 PM.

A.M. lap swim hours & A.M. aqua classes will continue as normal.

The pool will officially close for the season at 12 PM on September 16th.

Just Cause 2014 - YMCA

AQUA ZUMBA® – Just Add Water And Shake.  Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low-impact aquatic exercise. Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout.  Integrating the Zumba philosophy with traditional aquatic fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba® blends it all together into a workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.  (Water shoes recommended but not required.)  (60 min.)

AQUATIC FIT – Develop cardiorespiratory endurance and challenge your muscles in a new way with this dynamic water exercise class!  Water exercise forces the body to continually move against constant resistance which will take your level of fitness higher, all without punishing your joints and bones!  Adjustments are made for all levels of fitness and ages.  Additional equipment is utilized and no swimming skills are necessary.  Your body will appreciate this workout!  (60 min.)

(not offered at this time) AQUATIC BOOT CAMP/CIRCUIT – It’s a H.I.I.T.! Challenge yourself to a high intensity interval training workout in our “liquid gym”! Water exercise is an excellent modality to train the body or to cross train, all while being gentle on the joints. Take your fitness to the next level! (60 min.)

SILVER SNEAKERS SPLASH – A fun, shallow-water exercise class suitable for all skill levels and is safe for non-swimmers. The pool provides many benefits when used for aerobic exercise and resistance training.
