Physical Family Activities

The Y is a  place where all children and their families can belong, create a sense of well-being and enjoy creative play both inside and outdoors. CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) provides monthly family activities that families can enjoy!

CATCH at the YMCA:

Enroll your child in the CATCH activities club and let them play games, learn healthy habits and have fun, while you workout at the Peoria YMCA.

  • Days: Every Monday and Wednesday
  • Time: 5:30-7:45pm
  • Ages: 5-12 year olds
  • What:  Using fun games and activities, children are able to create good habits that will last a lifetime.
  • Cost: Members-One time $10 registration fee; Non-members-$10/day

We incorporate many classic games such as capture the flag, archery, fort building, as well as utilizing the CATCH curriculum.  This program focuses on sports, physical activity and nutrition, designed for elementary and middle school children (ages 5 – 12).

CATCH in the Community:

Did you know that the Peoria Y serves the following areas, every week, in providing physical activity and nutrition education:

  • Neighborhood House
  • East Bluff Community Center
  • Proctor Recreation Center
  • Salvation Army
  • Boys and Girls Club
  • Peoria Public Libraries (locations vary)

Many of these sites require program registration. Contact the specific site for registration requirements, and days/times of the program.
