I have been a personal trainer for three years. I became a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine in 2021 and graduated with a degree in Exercise Science from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, MO, in 2022. While living in St. Louis, I worked for an in-home personal training company.
I moved to Peoria in the summer of 2022 and recently graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Bradley University. I have been training at the Peoria YMCA on the side for the past two years.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family—my wife, Lillian, and our two sons, Bodie (3 years old) and Barrett (10 months old).
Hello, I’m Matt, and I have been a personal trainer for four years. I am certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, and I’m currently pursuing a career as a physical therapist at Bradley University. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exercising, watching sports, and playing the drums. I love training because it allows me to help individuals push themselves and achieve their goals!
I’m Noah! I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from ISU and just recently graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Bradley University. I’ve been a personal trainer for about a year. My hobbies include golf, reading, playing video games, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with my pets. My favorite part of being a trainer is helping people improve their health and work toward their goals.
I love fitness, and I love sharing it with others! In the past, I have participated in many road races, ranging from 5Ks to ultra-marathons, including serving as a pacer for the Chicago Marathon. I believe in cross-training, which involves working your entire body—from cardio to strength training to core work. I also believe in exercise modifications to meet my clients’ needs, as well as teaching functional exercises that improve everyday life.
I enjoy working with people of all ages—kids, mature adults, and everyone in between! Fitness isn’t just about being the “strongest” or the “fastest”; it’s about feeling good about yourself!
Hi, my name is Shane, Head Trainer at the YMCA. I have been a personal trainer for five years, helping guide a variety of individuals through their fitness journeys. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University in 2020. My wife and I moved to Peoria four years ago from Colorado and have brought our passions for the outdoors and fitness with us.
I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Bradley University, hoping to make a difference in people’s lives through therapy. My training philosophy is to create personalized programs that work for each individual.
Throughout my life, I have been a multi-sport athlete, participating in football, basketball, snowboarding, and kickboxing. My training background includes athletic training, weightlifting, adaptive exercises, and programs focused on fat loss and muscle gain. Please feel free to reach out with any questions—I look forward to working with you!
