Adult B Swim Lesson
This class is designed for adults with prior swimming experience who are looking to improve technique for their desired stroke. Swimmers should be comfortable submerging their face, floating, and gliding independently, and are able to stand in the water after swimming without assistance. Instruction is tailored to each swimmer, with a focus on refining stroke mechanics, improving efficiency, and addressing individual areas for development. |

High School Penguins
This competitive program offers children an opportunity to work with trained coaches to improve swimming skills, endurance and promote a healthy lifestyle. This offering is specifically for high school students that participate in their school's team and are looking for another team to supplement or continue their swim seasons. While attendance at all 4 days per week is strongly encouraged to help build their skill and ready them for competition, participants may attend as few or as many practices as they would like to accommodate their school schedule and other extra curricular activities. It is highly recommended that swim team members do their best to attend practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the most effective workout and conditioning opportunities. All practices will take place at Manual Academy located at 811 S Griswold St, Peoria, IL 61605. Locations of swim meets will be determined and shared at the start of the season. End date for this program is determined by the last swim meet of the season. |

Parent/Child Swim Lessons
Our Parent/Child Swim Lessons introduce infants and toddlers to the water in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment, with a parent or caregiver actively participating in each class. Led by a Y-USA certified swim instructor, this program focuses on building early water comfort, trust, and positive associations with the aquatic environment. Through guided activities, songs, and gentle play, families work together to help children develop foundational water skills and safety awareness. Skills may include supported floating, kicking, basic arm movements, breath awareness, safe pool entry and exit, and comfort with water movement. Parents and caregivers also learn techniques to safely support their child in the water. The goal of this program is to foster confidence, strengthen the parent-child bond, and establish a strong foundation for future swim skill development and lifelong water safety. |

Individuals with Diverse Abilities Private Swim Lessons provide one-on-one, adaptive instruction designed to support each participant's unique physical, cognitive, sensory, or behavioral needs. Lessons are led by certified YMCA swim instructors and focus on water comfort, safety skills, and individualized goals in a supportive, structured, and encouraging environment. Programs are tailored to the participant's abilities, learning style, and pace to promote confidence, independence, and positive experiences in the water. |

Women's Self Defense Seminar
This 2-hour women's basic self-defense seminar covers essential skills for personal safety. It includes an introduction to situational awareness, understanding personal space, hands-on practice of basic self-defense techniques, tailored for women, including grips, leverage, and maintaining distance, and using everyday objects for defense, verbal de-escalation, awareness in different environments, emergency response planning, and a Q&A session. The goal is to empower participants with practical knowledge and confidence in self-protection. Practical Techniques: Learn hands-on self-defense techniques tailored for women, including strikes, kicks, and escapes. Situational Awareness: Develop keen awareness to recognize and avoid potential threats in various environments. Verbal Self-Defense: Acquire effective communication skills to de-escalate confrontations and assert personal boundaries. Everyday Tools: Discover how to use everyday objects for self-defense, turning common items into protective tools. Empowerment and Confidence: Gain a sense of empowerment and increased confidence in your ability to protect yourself through skill-building and knowledge. |
